ECT was first established in 2005 as a joint venture between Oiltanking, Odfjell and Nuian Baspar Engineering Co. to build the first private chemical terminal in Site 5 of Petrochemical Special Economic Zone (Petzone) Bandar Imam Khomeini (BIK) with a total capacity of 22,000 cubic meters. ECT terminal has been operative since 2010 storing chemicals, petrochemical and oil products. Having multiple pipelines to Petzone jetties, we can handle different products simultaneously to and from the vessels at jetties. We also have the necessary facilities to discharge products via pipeline to any nearby plants or load into road tankers for receivers who do not have pipeline connection to the terminal.
Alternatively, customers can use our state of the art fully automatic drumming facility if they prefer to distribute their products to end-users in drums. Safety of our personnel and the products stored with us is of utmost importance to us. Our terminal is equipped with different safety systems to ensure safe handling of the products are coming into and going out. We practice emergency procedures regularly and organize maneuvers with the local fire station to practice for any accidents. Most important than any safety systems, is the safety culture of the personnel at ECT which they constantly strive to enhance.

We provide storage facility for our customers in several atmospheric storage tanks, depending on the product type, and storage requirements. All our tanks are nitrogen blanketed and equipped to various safety mechanisms to ensure safety our personnel, products stored and our facility.
The terminal has safe & efficient facilities to load and discharge tanker trucks. Five tanker trucks can be served simultaneously at TT Gantry for loading/discharging of material.
We provide ship loading and unloading service to customers if that is part of their shipping requirement. We are connected via multiple pipelines to 2 jetties.
The Terminal is equipped with a weight bridge connected to the Custom office of Petzone. The weighing facility is certified by relevant authorities and certificate is updated at required intervals. All road tanker trucks are weighed before entering or exiting the terminal.
ECT Terminal has two lines of drumming facilities and can provide its customers with the drum filling services for easier distribution of small size lots to the downstream industry.
We can provide direct pipeline connection between our customers and the terminal so that products can be transferred directly to/from dedicated tanks at our terminal at any time. This allows for transfer of large quantities of product anytime during the day, at increased safety. In this case ECT acts as a hub for loading/discharging of customer ships or tanker trucks.
The terminal is built in site 5 of the Petrochemical Special Economic Zone (Petzone) in Bandar Imam Khomeini (BIK) and connected to the close by Petzone jetty facility via pipelines. Beside handling vessels and tank trucks, the terminal has two lines of drumming facility and is connected via pipelines to the petrochemical plants in the area. With consideration of planned expansion, the capacity of terminal will be about 140’000 cbm. In the first phase ECT has started with 18 tanks (22’000 cbm). This first phase is operational since February 2010.
